Universal & Indexed Universal Life · South Florida
Flexible permanent coverage with market-linked upside and a downside floor.
Universal life gives you permanent protection with adjustable premiums and a cash account. Indexed universal life (IUL) credits interest tied to a market index with a contractual floor, so a down year doesn't erase your gains.
Why it matters
The middle ground between term and whole life.
Universal life separates the insurance charge from the cash account, which lets you pay more in strong years and less in lean ones. Business owners with uneven income and high earners maxing out qualified plans use it constantly across South Florida.
Indexed universal life adds an index-linked crediting method: gains follow something like the S&P 500 up to a cap, and a 0% floor protects the account in a losing year. Guaranteed universal life takes the opposite approach — minimal cash value, maximum guaranteed death benefit at the lowest permanent premium available.

Frequently asked
Universal Life (IUL) questions we hear every week.
What is the difference between IUL and whole life?+
Whole life offers contractual guarantees and dividends; IUL offers index-linked crediting with caps and a floor, plus premium flexibility. Whole life is more predictable; IUL has more upside and more moving parts to manage.
Can an IUL lose money?+
The indexed account itself has a 0% floor, so market losses don't reduce credited interest. Policy charges still apply, so an underfunded policy can erode. Funding level and design matter more than the illustration.
Is universal life good for retirement income?+
It can supplement retirement income through tax-free policy loans, but it is life insurance first. We only recommend it when the death benefit is genuinely needed and the policy is funded properly.
What is guaranteed universal life?+
GUL is permanent coverage with a no-lapse guarantee and little cash value — essentially term to age 95+ at a fraction of whole life cost. Ideal for estate liquidity and final expenses.
Who should avoid universal life?+
Anyone who only needs coverage for a fixed period, or who can't commit to consistent funding. In those cases term life is cheaper and safer.
