Medicare · Broward & Palm Beach County
An independent Medicare broker — for the retirement you actually planned.
Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Part D prescription drug plans, and standalone dental, hearing and vision — all compared side-by-side across every major carrier serving Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Delray Beach and West Palm Beach. Zero cost to you, no pressure, no upsell.
Why an independent broker
The commercials aren't wrong — they're just not personal.
Turning 65 in South Florida means a mailbox full of Medicare offers, television ads from national call centers, and cousins with strong opinions. What almost none of them account for is your doctors, your prescriptions, and the specific Broward or Palm Beach network you actually use. That's what an independent Medicare agent does — match the plan to the person.
PB & J Insurance is contracted with the major carriers writing Medicare business in Florida — Humana, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Florida Blue, Wellcare and more. We run your prescriptions, your primary care provider, your specialists and your budget through every plan option, then hand you a plain-English comparison of the best two or three. You choose. You pay nothing for the guidance.
Every part of Medicare
One broker for every piece of your Medicare year.
Medicare Advantage (Part C)
All-in-one plans that often include dental, vision and prescription drug coverage — networks vary widely across Broward and Palm Beach County, and choosing right matters.
Medicare Supplement (Medigap)
Plan G, Plan N and high-deductible options that pair with Original Medicare — best when you want maximum provider freedom and predictable out-of-pocket costs.
Part D Prescription Drug Plans
Stand-alone drug coverage matched to your actual prescriptions and preferred South Florida pharmacies.
Dental, Hearing & Vision
Standalone ancillary plans for anything Original Medicare and your Advantage plan won't cover — from cleanings to hearing aids to progressive lenses.
Annual Enrollment Reviews
Every October we re-run your plan against next year's formulary and premium changes. If a better option exists, we tell you.

Common situations
The Medicare conversations we have every week.
"I'm turning 65 in a few months." Perfect window. We map your Initial Enrollment Period, get your Part B set up correctly, and have a plan chosen before your birthday.
"My Advantage plan changed and I can't find my doctor." Every October carriers reshuffle networks. If your Fort Lauderdale primary care or Boca Raton specialist is now out-of-network, we'll find a plan that still includes them during the Annual Election Period.
"My prescriptions are killing me." A single Part D switch can save $2,000+ per year. We check every drug against every formulary in your ZIP code.
"I'm still working past 65." Coordinating Medicare with employer coverage is nuanced — get it wrong and you face lifetime late-enrollment penalties. We handle the sequencing.

Local networks matter
We know the networks across South Florida — because we live in them.
Cleveland Clinic Weston, Broward Health, Memorial Healthcare, Boca Raton Regional, Delray Medical Center, Bethesda, Good Samaritan — each network is treated differently by each Medicare plan. As your local Medicare broker, we translate that into a real recommendation instead of a marketing pitch.
Frequently asked
Medicare questions we hear every week.
What does a Medicare broker cost me?+
Nothing. Independent Medicare brokers are paid a flat amount by the carrier when you enroll — and the same amount regardless of which plan you choose. That's what keeps our advice honest.
Medicare Advantage vs Medicare Supplement — which is better?+
Neither is universally better. Advantage plans usually have $0 premiums and bundled benefits but restrict you to a network. Supplement plans have higher premiums but let you see any doctor that accepts Medicare — critical for South Florida retirees who travel or split time up north. We'll model both against your situation.
Can I switch plans if I chose the wrong one?+
Yes, during Annual Enrollment (Oct 15 – Dec 7) and the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment (Jan 1 – Mar 31). Certain life events also trigger Special Enrollment Periods. We track your timeline for you.
Do you help with Part D prescription drug plans?+
Every year. We enter each of your medications into Medicare's Plan Finder and compare every Part D and Advantage-with-drug plan available in your Broward or Palm Beach ZIP code — the savings can be substantial.
What about dental, vision and hearing?+
Original Medicare doesn't cover routine dental, vision or hearing. Some Medicare Advantage plans do; others require a standalone ancillary plan. We quote both approaches so you can compare the true total cost of care.
I'm turning 65 — when should I contact you?+
Six months before your birthday is ideal. Your Initial Enrollment Period opens three months before your birth month and ends three months after — early planning avoids Part B late penalties and gives us time to find your best-fit plan.
