Stroke Insurance · South Florida
Stroke recovery is long. This makes it financially survivable.
A lump-sum benefit paid at diagnosis of a covered stroke — designed for the months of rehabilitation, home modification and caregiving that follow.
Why it matters
The expensive part of a stroke starts after discharge.
Acute treatment is what health insurance handles well. What it handles poorly is the year that follows: outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy with visit caps, a ramp and a walk-in shower, transportation, and a spouse cutting back to part-time to provide care.
Stroke insurance pays cash directly to you at diagnosis so those decisions can be made on medical grounds rather than budget ones. Most policies also cover transient ischemic attacks at a reduced benefit, and pair naturally with heart attack and hospital indemnity coverage.

Frequently asked
Stroke Insurance questions we hear every week.
What type of stroke is covered?+
Ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes producing measurable, persisting neurological deficit are standard. Definitions vary slightly, so we review the contract language with you.
Are TIAs covered?+
Frequently at a partial benefit. A mini-stroke may also affect future eligibility, which is a reason to secure coverage before one occurs.
How much coverage should I buy?+
Most South Florida households choose $25,000–$50,000 — roughly a year of rehab, modifications and partial income replacement.
Can I get it after a prior stroke?+
Standard critical illness coverage typically excludes recurrence, but some carriers will cover other unrelated conditions. We shop those markets specifically.
How is this different from disability insurance?+
Disability replaces income monthly and requires ongoing proof of inability to work. Stroke insurance pays one lump sum at diagnosis with no work test at all.
